About Me

I'm a husband, Pop, logistician, aspiring guitar player, frequent traveler, amateur photographer, whisky aficionado and tech geek.

I'm also a Scotsman living far from blighty on the Kitsap Peninsula in very rural Washington, USA.

Husband to Ross, an utterly brilliant horticulturist, botanist and gardening writer.

Pop to our adorable daughter, Cara Jane.

Logistician for the ModusLink Corporation.  Although I'm based at home, I travel the world working with some fantastic people focusing on Strategy and Innovation.  I've worked in logistics and supply chain for many years in a variety of industries and companies such as Amazon.com, Capgemini Consulting, 3663 First for Foodservice and The Glenmorangie Distillery Company.

Aspiring guitar player, both acoustic and electric, although I focus mainly on electric these days.  I've been learning since January 2014 but still barely hold a tune - never mind...

Frequent traveler all around the US, Europe and Asia.  Mostly for work but I do get some downtime which gives me time for my other interests.

Amateur photographer using my trusty iPhone 7 taking pictures when I travel.  You can see some of my photos here.

Tech geek, early adopter and owner of a large tech graveyard of discarded first editions hoping they might be worth something one day...

Scotsman, I was born in the south of Scotland and spent my informative years near Edinburgh.  My family are mostly still in Scotland and I try and make it back at least once a year.

Whisky aficionado, self-proclaimed of course, but I do try and practice this hobby often.  I had the pleasure of working for The Glenmorangie Distillery Company for several years and had the opportunity to sample many types of whisky.  Note the lack of 'e' in whisky...
